Reflective Modulators
The reflective modulator is a key device for the C3PO project as it is the main building block for the development of transceivers for IPoDWDM transport networks and WDM-PONs.

Specifically, in the frames of C3PO project, the following reflective modulators will be designed and developed:
Reflective Electro-absorption modulator integrated with Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (REAM/SOA)
- Indium Phosphide monolithic integration of REAM with SOA
- Increased chip capacity through integration of InP arrays on a single photonic chip
- Operational speed exceeding 28 Gb/s
- Capability for operation without any cooling (coolerless)
- Wavelength-independent operation (colourless)
- Suitable for system integration into next generation WDM linecard products applicable to IPoDWDM transport networks
- Suitable for system integration into WDM-PON OLT systems
- Potential for low-cost and volume manufacturing using "HyBoard" hybrid integration platform of CIP Technologies
Reflective Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (RSOA)
- Indium Phosphide monolithic integration
- Operational speed exceeding 1Gb/s
- Capability for operation without any cooling (coolerless)
- Wavelength independent operation (colourless)
- Suitable for system integration into new customer premises equipment (CPE) in next generation WDM-PONs
